Bishop's Monday

Good evening,

Today we had a visitor to the school. His Grace, Bishop Barry.

So, the school welcomed him at a special assembly...

...and then he came around to say hello.

His Te Reo is excellent!

After lunch, and just before I shot through early to an ICT meeting, the children started some investigative reporting of each other.

More of that on Wednesday.

Catch up Saturday

Good morning,

Sorry I've not ICTd Room 2's goings on over the last couple of days. I've been to busy ICTing. That is to say, I had to rush to an ICT meeting (both face to face and virtual) Thursday and Friday afternoons.

So, here's what they got up to on Thursday...

...and Friday, which looks like it was a fun. (I was writing reports.)

Apparently Tom blew everyone away with his dancing!

And a good time was had by all.

Literacy Wednesday

Good afternoon,

It's been all about the written word today.

First up with writing, where we are having a brief look at a new genre for the rest of the term.

So, we read a wee report...

...discussed it...

...then listed that which we learnt from it.

We'll be resorting it and writing a report from it over the next few days.

After morning tea we were back for some more literacy, this time reading. Specifically the identification of blends through a big book.

After lunch we tried our Maori literacy...

...briefly discussed some technological literacy...

...before having a few bods from Room 12 join us for some library-accessible-literacy at the end of the day.

Please note, you'll have to log in with your library card.

Have a nice evening,

Mr Grant

One Photo Tuesday

Good afternoon,

And what a lovely afternoon it has been too. Very nice for a spot of fielding practice outside.

Speaking of physical activities, this morning we had our first senior let Jump Jam session.

Oh, and this from Friday.

Speaking of things I should have done earlier, sorry for the lack of newsletter in the weekend, I was down in Cromwell with Mum, and didn't get home in time to do one.

Bye for now, and goodbye Aaron, I'm sure you'll have a great time in Perth and Bali,

Mr Grant
