Noisy Friday

Good afternoon,

It's been a funny old day, with lots of staying-inside. Still, we did manage a little bit of Maori, Handwriting and Poetry.

Oh, and speaking of videos, here is one that I green screened from yesterday.

Then, after Assembly, the children had an opportunity to exercise the Key Competencies of Thinking, Relating to Others, Understanding Symbols and Text, Managing Yourself, and Participating and Contributing.

And a good time was had by all.

Have a good weekend,

Mr Grant

Work-and-play Wednesday

Good afternoon,

And a lovely afternoon it is too.

This morning, for the first time, we had two plays performed for us. First Don't Hurt Me! by Kahurangi Reading Group...

...and Ma.

Some lovely vocalisation there!

Oh, and for 100 House Points...

Inside Tuesday

Good afternoon,

Well, it was a little damp this afternoon, so, after Rutherford Team Singing, instead of going out for P.E., we read another chapter of the Magic Faraway Tree (which I'm really enjoying), and the children had a wee few minutes to exercise the Key Compentencies.

(I've taught a very simple set of wargame rules using my Star Wars miniatures - if your target's in the open, you need to roll a 5 or 6, if it's hiding behind something, you need a 6. It's great for a bit of tactical decision making and good old fashion turn taking. And see, girls can play with toy soldiers!)
Earlier in the day, after a bit of big book instruction, identifying blends...
...Ma reading group read a School Journal article about a seeing eye human for a dog...

Have a lovely evening,

Mr Grant

Jesus Loves

Good afternoon,

This afternoon we went over some of the bible stories that showed that Jesus loved those around Him...

...and then made mobiles that showed how Jesus loves, and how we love.

We also read, both Ma and Kahurangi starting new levels this morning.

Enjoy the sun while it lasts,

Mr Grant
